We had a wonderful time with the Johnson-Ishmael family during their Outer Banks family portrait session. The family was visiting the Monteray Shores area of beautiful Corolla,NC in June . The family traveled all the way from Kentucky to celebrate Chili and Nancy’s amazing 50th Anniversary. They had done family portraits on the beach before and wanted to do something a little bit different. Since they were staying in Corolla we chose Whalehead Park. The area has so many opportunities for portraits including getting the lighthouse in the images as well as the Whalehead Club. This is one of my favorite places to shoot.
Instead of dressing everyone alike they chose colors that coordinated well together. We were able to get portraits of each family at the different locations as well as group photos at each location. Having many group photos in each area was very important to them. They also made sure to have some fun with their images. They made their own family shirts and made sure to pose funny for each group shot.
