Nags Head Family Beach Portraits

We were so fortunate to work with the Kilmer family in 2012 and then work with them again in 2014. A lot of our loyal customers return yearly or bi-yearly to help document how their family has grown. There is no better time to do it than during family vacation. Everyone is happy and having fun and they are in a beautiful place.

The Kilmer family stayed in a gorgeous house in The Village of Nags Head right on the beach. The portrait session was right before sunset. It was perfect weather and lighting for our beach portrait session.
The families each chose a color that worked with their family group. They also had a change of clothes to celebrate the Untied States soccer team during the Olympic Games. Fun was had by all on the beach kicking around the soccer ball. They even recreated the “biting” scene during their session. I wish I could show all the great photos from this fun family portrait session.

Whalehead Club Family Portraits Chili and Nancy

We had a wonderful time with the Johnson-Ishmael family during their Outer Banks family portrait session. The family was visiting the Monteray Shores area of beautiful Corolla,NC in June . The family traveled all the way from Kentucky to celebrate Chili and Nancy’s amazing 50th Anniversary. They had done family portraits on the beach before and wanted to do something a little bit different. Since they were staying in Corolla we chose Whalehead Park. The area has so many opportunities for portraits including getting the lighthouse in the images as well as the Whalehead Club. This is one of my favorite places to shoot.
Instead of dressing everyone alike they chose colors that coordinated well together. We were able to get portraits of each family at the different locations as well as group photos at each location. Having many group photos in each area was very important to them. They also made sure to have some fun with their images. They made their own family shirts and made sure to pose funny for each group shot.
