Family Portraits

When we shoot your family portraits we like to capture relationships and special moments. We will get as many group pictures that you would like during the photo session. We try to do the portraits either very early in the morning or close to sunset in the evening. The beach is clear of people at this time and the sun is not too bright.
If time permits we will shoot some images in the dune line with the sea oats and sand dunes behind you and then move in front of the ocean to get some great beach shots. After the group shots are done I love to get some candid shots of the different families and the children walking on down the beach holding hands or playing in the sand.
Don’t be afraid to bring props to your family portrait session (funny glasses, cigars, parasols & boas, etc…). Silly pictures can be so fun!

Don’t forget about the kids! You can bring a bucket and shovel or a favorite toy to keep them occupied between shoots or to use during the shoot. For kids that don’t like the sand bring a blanket to sit on. Don’t forget to bring bottled water, snacks or a bottle for the little ones too. Sometimes a nice treat for good behavior can go a long way.
You might want to make sure everyone is wearing sunblock too. It can get very hot out on the beach in the summer.

The most important part to family portraits? Don’t forget your smile 🙂
