We have worked with this family many times. The first time was for their wedding. We photographed their birth announcement but couldn’t share it until their beautiful baby arrived since the sex and name of the baby was a surprise for everyone. Eleanor is now here and I got to meet her this summer! I will share those images soon!
I had so much fun working with my brother Kevin and his lovely fiance’ Sam. Our family gets together once a year on the beaches of Corolla. Since there are so many of us it is the only time we get to see each other. When I found out that they were engaged I couldn’t wait to photograph their engagement session. We started out at the Whalehead club and then ended our session on the beach.
I am super excited for their wedding day, where I will be a guest so I can enjoy the moment! Much love and happiness to them!
About the couple:
Samantha is a 6th grade ELA teacher from Bergen County NJ
I’m a huge book lover. I read all day every day. Being healthy is a big plus, but a glass of vino is my weak spot.
Kevin, director 401k implementation from Marlton NJ
I’m a meathead, pit bull lover, wanna be chef, tattoo enthusiast and philosophical explorer.
We are best friends (gag lol). We love spending time together. We also have a passion of rescuing and saving underprivileged animals but specifically pitbulls. Kev and I love to cook together, play together and fight together. We met on match.com. Our first date was at The Landmark in Livingston NJ. Too many tequila shots. We have been together almost 3 years. Kev and I volunteer on the weekends at the Newark Humane Society in Newark NJ. We have our own rescue pit named Scout. We have so many inside jokes and moments but BOOP sums it up!
Kevin took me to a lake down the street from our apartment. He proceeded to tell me how when he was in NYC last week he didn’t go for work like he said (I immediately thought the worst, that he was cheating!!) Then he got down on one knee and said “because I was getting this”
We are having our wedding in December 2017. We are getting married at Saint Catherine of Sienna in Cedar Grove and then the reception is at The Grand Wilshire in West Orange. The colors are deep merlot for my ladies and the guys are going to wear grey. Because our wedding is in December. We are going with winter and more specifically a Christmas theme.
We have worked with this family for a few years now. We were honored to shoot Laura & Mike’s wedding in 2011. It was amazing to see their family again and their new addition!
We often donate portrait sessions to local charities. This family had won their session by bidding on it through a silent auction. They wanted to try something different for their session. Most of our portrait session are on the beach but I was up for the challenge. We met at the base of the Memorial and decided to start there and work our way up. What a wonderful and historic place for a session and the view from the top is gorgeous! If you are going to book your session at this location there are some things you need to know.
The hours they are open doesn’t always work well with the lighting. Scheduling this location is better in the fall and winter when the sun goes down early.
You have to work around the other tourists (another reason to do this shoot off season).
There is a fee to enter the park.
We had so much fun with this busy couple, their twins and their two beautiful daughters. The photo shoot was at Coquina beach in Nags Head. This is one of my favorite places to hold family beach portraits. This beach is gorgeous, it has bathrooms and showers, and in this case the wildlife comes to greet you. There was a young buck that was curious as to what we were doing.
